Salary: Subject to Experience - £33,000 - £45,000 (based on experience)

New Starter Payment - £5,000 (£2,500 after 1 month employment £2,500 after 12 months)

Due to sustained growth Labman are seeking to recruit a Field Service Engineer to join our team in Liverpool.

Labman deliver bespoke robotics and software systems to major companies and public bodies across the world. The job will be challenging and dynamic with opportunities to work with a huge range of established and emergent technologies, providing you with opportunities to learn and develop your skillset.

You will be working alongside a dedicated team of engineers at Labman’s office in Liverpool. It is a creative and innovative environment, full of the latest robotic systems and technology. There will be opportunities to travel, within the UK and worldwide.

What the Job Involves

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance of Labman’s automated robotic systems in the North-West of the UK. (Primarily based at the University of Liverpool)
  • Provide technical support both on site and remotely
  • Provide training in operating systems, routine maintenances, and fault diagnosis.
  • Participate in factory and site acceptance testing of newly built and delivered systems.
  • Generate quotations for customer visits, system upgrades and any other support work
  • Document and feedback customer information to HQ to improve future system design and customer experience.
  • Maintain effective quality systems and programs compliant with ISO 9001 standard.
  • Identify business opportunities, upgrades and improvement of client systems
  • Participate in continuous improvement meetings and activities and escalate processes and product quality gaps, providing solutions when possible
  • Build on Labman’s reputation by collaborating professionally with the client.
  • Along with all the team, keeping abreast of state-of-the-art technologies and developing techniques for use in future systems
  • Organise support work by identifying short-term and long-range issues; preparing timetables, cost estimates, and required resources.

Essential Capabilities

  • Strong problem solving & fault-finding skills including decision making, clear communication, research & analysis skills (can you accurately assess problems and come up with effective solutions?)
  • Electromechanical knowledge, basic software knowledge
  • Willingness to travel within the UK (although primarily based in the North-West)
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative and prioritise work
  • Customer oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Driving license, maximum 3 points
  • Good English literacy skills for producing documentation
  • Works well within a team with good communication skills
  • Have a positive can-do client facing demeanour

Desirable Capabilities

  • C# experience
  • Experience with industrial PLC systems
  • Some automation industry experience
