Position: Quality Engineer

Location: Labman HQ, Seamer, North Yorkshire

Salary: £38,000 £44,000 (based on experience)

Job Opportunity

This Role is office based in Stokesley North Yorkshire

Due to sustained business growth, we are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-driven Quality Engineer to join our Quality team. You will work across the business to develop and implement quality control systems and lead continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

What you will do:

Product Development to production

  • Collaborate with engineering during the design and prototype phases
  • Ensure consistent adherence to the product development processes.
  • Lead the design transfer process of products from R&D to manufacturing, ensuring readiness and risk-mitigated transitions.
  • Work closely with production engineering to ensure effective integration of new products into assembly and test.
  • Reviewing production batch records

Design Change & Documentation Ownership

  • Own and manage the design change process across the product lifecycle.
  • Lead the release and maintenance of technical documentation, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and accessibility.
  • Manage and maintain product Technical Files in line with compliance and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO9001)
  • Support the Quality team with all aspects of the quality management system, including; Internal & external audits, Non-conformance investigations, including supplier issues, customer complaints, product nonconformances
  • Work with suppliers to ensure quality expectations are met.
  • Train teams on quality procedures and standards.

What Essentials you bring:

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical, Product or Design Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
  • 2 Years experience in a quality engineering role, with a focus on new product integration, or related areas.
  • Proven experience working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with a strong understanding of the product development lifecycle.
  • Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and regulatory standards such as ISO 9001 (ISO 13485 is a bonus.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Risk Management including FMEA’s both in product development and production
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) and technical drawing interpretation.
